SuperWindows

by Gary Palmer - SuperWindows

SuperWindows (TM)  are the next generation of windows which will soon become the industry standard in all New Zealand homes as it is in much of the rest of the world.

They consist of a  highly thermally efficient uPVC frame surrounding an argon filled, low E coated, double glazing AND are the only windows available at this stage with the international Energy Star rating.

This these high tech windows keep in the heat, keep out the cold, and keep out the sun’s damaging UV rays better than any of the more traditional windows currently in use in New Zealand.

The energy and power savings can be huge.

The windows have been tested for over 20 years in the United States where failure to perform doesn’t just get you a slap on the wrist from some ineffective government agency. You get sued for millions by the people who bought them from you.  Far better motivation for quality control we say. In the UK, uPVC now makes up almost all new residential windows.

A study done in 2004 by BRANZ showed that uPVC framed, double glazed, argon filled, Low E coated windows significantly outperformed their thermally broken aluminium counterpart in in four out of six test areas (40% better in one area) and was equal in the other two.

One of the constant myths surrounding uPVC frames is that they fade in the harsh NZ UV environment. The BRANZ report clearly brings this myth to an end. uPVC is in fact mostly eco-friendly: it is a totally recyclable material, even after decades as a window.
