
Before you start we recommend you work your way through the Fix It simple planning checklist.
1. Scope the Project
You’ll need to decide (your Fix It Franchise Owner can help you here):
- What you want and need (what’s a must and what’s a bonus?)
- When you would like the work completed, in stages or all at once
- What is your Budget?
2. Concept and Design
- Collect pictures of designs you like.
- Discuss your requirements with our Fix It Franchise Owner or Designer
- Review our New Rooms for Old concept sketches and designs
- Settle on a final design
3. Renovation Finances
Does the design meet your budget?
How will you finance the project? (Again, Fix It can help you here with a pre-approved loan tailored to your needs.)
4. Construction
- Do you need a Building Consent? (Fix It will advise you on this. If a Building Consent is required, no work can commence on your project until this has been obtained. However, Fix It will be happy to arrange this for you.)
- Work with Fix It to prepare a Project Completion Schedule, allowing for known and unforeseen delays e.g. weather, family visits

Sign a Fixed Price Contract with Fix It and secure with a deposit
- Then leave it to Fix It – we’ll take care of supplying all the materials and managing all the trades required to complete your project to your complete satisfaction
- If the project needed a Building Consent, a Code of Compliance Certificate (CCC) will be issued by your Building Consent Authority after the final inspection of the finished building project
